UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORTING STUDENTS A firm believer of the theory of multiple intelligences put forth by Howard Gardner, we understand that the learning method of every student differs, sometimes significantly from one student to another. We strive to nurture the potential of every student by understanding their diverse learning needs, and applying suitable teaching methods that would result in active engagement and cultivate a strong interest in Chinese.
In guiding students along their learning journey, we believe in instructing them through the use of positive encouragement and support. Encouragement focuses on the student's effort or improvement and helps them to feel valued and appreciated. This helps to cultivate intrinsic motivation that spurs greater participation as the student finds joy and satisfaction in learning. THE GIFT OF GIVING Community remains at the heart of our thoughts and actions, and we strongly advocate servant leadership and giving back to society. Our caring teachers regularly volunteer to host Chinese-Story telling sessions at the National Library to inculcate the habit of reading in children, and participate in Chinese language and culture meetup groups to openly share their knowledge with interested individuals. This is a value that we aspire to inculcate in our students as well.
